What does the menstrual cycle reveal about fertility?

The length and regularity of menstrual cycles can provide some insight into ovarian function and fertility.

  • Short cycles (less than 24 days) may suggest early ovarian aging.
  • Long cycles often indicate delayed and irregular ovulation.
  • Absent periods (amenorrhea) usually mean that ovulation is not occurring.
